Arriving in Llanberis the evening of Storm Francis was not the best start for Annabel and 11 year old son Casius who had travelled up from London for their Snowdon adventure.
Setting off on the Thursday I knew we only had a possible two hour window when the weather was forecasted to be clear and dry (hopefully). Taking the Sherpa to Pen y Pass for an ascent by the Pyg and then down by way of the Llanberis Path was our chosen route.
Rain and wind did not deter them both and we made good time to arrive at a cold and wet summit where we did not linger! As forecast the clouds lifted and the rain stopped as we dropped into Clogwyn for a well deserved refreshment stop and a chance to get into some dry clothes (Annabel was well prepared!).
It's a long old path down into Llanberis and as we eventually arrived the heavens opened just as I was getting back into the car, phew! Fantastic effort by them both especially Cassius in some very challenging conditions.
